How recruitment will operate across Kent and Greenwich
On the 1 August 2026, the Universities of Greenwich and Kent came together to form the London and South East (LASE) University Group.
As a staff member of the LASE University Group, you can apply for internal vacancies across both Kent and Greenwich. Vacancies advertised externally will continue to be open to all staff across the Group and external applicants.
The information below explains how recruitment, secondments and redeployment operate across the LASE University Group.
Recruitment
Staff can view and apply for internal vacancies across both Kent and Greenwich. Vacancies will continue to be advertised separately by each academic division, so you should check both the Kent and Greenwich job pages,
to see all available opportunities.
Secondments
Where appropriate, secondment opportunities will be open to staff from both academic divisions.
Redeployment
If you are a redeployee of the LASE University Group, you will be added to both Kent and Greenwich redeployment registers. This means you will automatically receive email notifications from both academic divisions when opportunities are advertised.
Redeployment for staff based at Kent and Greenwich will continue to be managed in line with the Kent and Greenwich policies respectively. As circumstances may vary, each redeployment opportunity will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, considering individual circumstances, organisational requirements, and the suitability of available roles.

Employment terms and conditions
If you are successful in securing a role within a different academic division from the one in which you currently work, you will remain an employee of LASE University Group. However, from the date you take up your new role, you will transfer to the terms and conditions applicable to your new academic division.
