This is a unique opportunity to become part of the team developing the Kent and Medway Medical School BM BS programme, establishing systems and procedures to support the School's curriculum and assessments.

If you can demonstrate sound experience of developing and managing systems in higher education, with a proven ability to comply with quality assurance frameworks and great attention to detail, we would love to hear from you.

The role will require extensive collaboration with others, so your ability to manage relationships with confidence and build consensus will be invaluable. You will also develop processes to gather feedback from students and respond quickly and effectively, playing a key role in ensuring an excellent student experience in KMMS.

As Curriculum and Assessment Manager you will:

  • manage all aspects of administration associated with the organisation and delivery of the medical curriculum and the student experience
  • ensure accurate student, programme and assessment records are held
  • manage the assessment and examination processes
  • line manage the Course Coordinators
  • act as Secretary to a range of relevant KMMS committees

As KMMS evolves, so will the role.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • to have a degree or equivalent in a related field
  • experience of developing and managing systems in higher education, particularly exam boards
  • experience of using student records systems
  • to be an innovative problem solver
  • the ability to work on your own initiative, prioritising and managing time effectively
  • adaptability and readiness for the challenge of starting a medical school from scratch

Our vision for KMMS is to create a new medical school for Kent and Medway that becomes a beacon for first-class medical education and research. The School will attract the most talented aspiring doctors from within the local community and beyond, offering training and development opportunities that will help to keep that talent in Kent and Medway. Lead by its Founding Dean, Professor Chris Holland, the School will open in September 2020, offering 100 undergraduate medical places on a yearly basis.
