Do you have experience of database management systems?  Do you have excellent communication skills and a passion for customer service? 

If you have the skills that we are looking for, then this could be an excellent opportunity for you to join the Development Office as a Database Coordinator.

In this role you will maintain information on the database, offer a first rate customer service to the Alumni, dealing with enquiries and offering a high standard of service to Raiser’s Edge users.

As a Database Coordinator you will:

  • Maintaining the Raiser’s Edge database to a high standard for use by the Development Office and other University of Kent departments to ensure accuracy of data and compliance with Data Protection legislation
  • Work with users of Raiser’s Edge to ensure the database meets their requirements
  • Act as a first point of contact for alumni and members of the public to ensure that their queries are dealt with in a prompt and effective manner
  • Provide additional support with the processing of data to teams within the Development Office to ensure Raiser’s Edge is a rich source data and information

To succeed in this role you will have

  • GCSE grades in English or maths or the equivalent
  • Experience of maintaining records on a Windows-based database management system and experience of working in a customer service environment
  • Experience of providing support and training to colleagues and an understanding of the Principles of Data Protection legislation
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office packages.

The Development Office is a dynamic, innovative and friendly professional service department. The four main areas of our work cover fundraising, alumni relations, corporate events and congregations- our graduation ceremonies, in both Canterbury and Rochester Cathedrals. We host over 50 events a year, with over 20,000 guests, communicate and engage with the University's 150,000 strong alumni community and raise funds for scholarships, hardship bursaries and capital builds.
