Receptionist - Kent Sport

Do you have experience of providing excellent customer service, IT skills and the ability to actively listen to customers? If you can deal with unexpected situations with courtesy, diplomacy and patience then this Part time role could be ideal for you. Join our team at Kent Sport, providing a friendly, helpful and informative reception service.

Kent Sport is responsible for physical activity and wellbeing at the University of Kent. You will provide a professional presence at the front line of Kent Sport and act as the first point of contact.

You will undertake a range of administrative responsibilities and ensure the smooth flow of customers by providing a high-quality service to all users of the sports facilities. You will give the best possible impression of Kent Sport and the University, ensuring queries and visits are successfully managed. Full training will be provided.

As Receptionist you can expect to be involved in:

Providing excellent customer service to all visitors

Acting as the first point of contact for our students, staff, public members and visitors, ensuring the first impression of Kent Sport and of the university is welcoming

Processing sports facility bookings as appropriate, ensuring members have all the information they need and proactively deal with any issues members may have

Using the leisure management system to make reservations, check availability, process memberships and update customer records

Undertaking a range of tasks to facilitate the smooth running of the department and assist in the effective day to day administration, working proactively to deliver assigned tasks without prompting

Supporting in promoting Kent Sport facilities, memberships and offers.

What will you bring to the role?

GCSE level (Grade C/Level 4) or equivalent in Maths and English

Experience of working in a busy customer facing environment, dealing with pressurised situations

Experience and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams

A flexible approach to work, including shift, weekend and bank holiday hours to support operational delivery.
