Strength and Conditioning Coach

The School of Natural Sciences at the University of Kent is seeking to appoint a UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) accredited strength and conditioning coach on a 12-month contract. 

You will provide strength and conditioning provision to funded athletes from the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) programme.  The athletes supported will range from age 14 to senior level. 

In this role, you will look to maximise the physical performance capabilities and minimise risk of injury by providing effective planning, programming, and physical preparation of all athletes within the programme. 

This role will require you to lead on the management and delivery of the day-to-day physical training for TASS athletes at the University of Kent and you will actively engage with external partners and contribute to the University’s wider research strategy. 

You will need to hold a postgraduate degree in a related field of study (Strength and Conditioning, Sports Science, Sports Therapy) and be UKSCA accredited.  You will need to be able to demonstrate experience in athlete development within different sports and hold strong verbal communication skills.

Important information:

  • This role will be 6 hours per week and the hourly rate will be £26.38.
  • This role will require an Enhanced Disclosure and Baring Check (DBS).
  • This role is in-person, located at our Canterbury Campus.
  • The University is required to obtain evidence from all new members of staff of their eligibility to work in the UK prior to their start date and this will need to be provided before a contract can be issued.
