If this reflects your experience and ambitions, we welcome your application for this lecturer post.</p><p>The School of Natural Sciences at the University of Kent is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Biomedical Science to contribute to the delivery and ongoing development of our IBMS accredited Biomedical Science degree, combining high quality teaching with scholarship that informs and enhances professional and career focused education.</p><p>The School of Natural Sciences is a collaborative community spanning biosciences, conservation, chemistry, forensic science and sport and exercise science. While your primary focus will be Biomedical Science, you may also contribute to teaching across our undergraduate programmes in Biology and Biochemistry, particularly in molecular and cellular biology. The University of Kent is a founding partner of the Kent and Medway Medical School, providing opportunities for interdisciplinary engagement and for contributing to medically relevant education within a wider academic context.</p><p>The post is offered on the Education, Scholarship and Professional Practice pathway and is suited to a practitioner committed to high quality teaching in higher education and the continued development of professionally accredited provision. You will bring a clear understanding of IBMS accreditation requirements and the expectations placed on graduates working towards HCPC registration, ensuring these standards are embedded throughout the programme.</p><p><strong>As a Lecturer in Biomedical Science, you can expect to be involved in:</strong></p><ul type="disc"><li>Delivering, convening and assessing undergraduate and postgraduate modules</li><li>Ensuring that Biomedical Science teaching aligns with IBMS accreditation standards and supports students in meeting HCPC requirement</li><li>Contributing to curriculum development, quality assurance and periodic review</li><li>Supporting students&rsquo; academic and professional development</li><li>Engaging in scholarship and pedagogic activity that informs and enhances teaching practice</li></ul><p><strong>What will you bring to the role?</strong></p><ul type="disc"><li>Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area or equivalent experience</li><li>Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered or are currently a member of the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS)</li><li>Demonstrable technical competence in Biomedical Science</li></ul><p><strong><em>What we can offer in return:</em></strong></p><p>As a member of our team, you can expect a friendly, open and collaborative working environment and support in your development and wellbeing.             <p id="isPasted">Are you an outstanding and ambitious academic in AI-driven Biology / Bioinformatics? &nbsp;Would you be interested in joining the research-intensive Biosciences community within the School of Natural Sciences to contribute internationally on research and deliver enagging teaching? &nbsp;If yes, then please read on.</p><p>The School of Natural Sciences, at the University of Kent, is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in AI in Biology / Bioinformatics to develop and deliver innovative and engaging teaching to students. &nbsp;You will also undertake internationally excellent research in the subject area and will be responsible for administrative and support activities, working collaboratively towards School and University aims.</p><p>The role will contribute to knowledge exchange activities in the discipline as well as learning and teaching on agreed programmes, with research-backed knowledge and expertise in AI in Biology or Bioinformatics.</p><p>The role is offered on an Education and Research (E&amp;R) contract, appropriate for candidates with a strong research record and trajectory, contributing high quality outputs in the relevant field, and able to enhance the University&rsquo;s research profile for the subject area.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>As a Lecturer in AI in Biology / Bioinformatics you can expect to be involved in:</strong></p><ul type="disc"><li>Undertaking an independent research programme, including supervision of research staff and students, contributing to the overall research strategy of the University of Kent</li><li>Delivering and contributing to the design of high quality, student-centred teaching on courses in the School of Natural Sciences</li><li>Disseminating research findings through various means including writing or contributing to internationally excellent papers in high-quality publications and presenting at conferences, furthering the research profile of the School and the external visibility and reputation of the University of Kent</li></ul><p><strong>What will you bring to the role?</strong></p><ul type="disc"><li>PhD in Bioinformatics, AI, or relevant discipline, or equivalent experience/qualification</li><li>An emerging record of international excellence in research commensurate with career stage and experience of producing high quality research outputs in leading journals</li><li>Demonstrable technical competence in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology</li></ul><p><strong>What we can offer in return:</strong></p><p>As a member of our team, you can expect a friendly, open and collaborative working environment and support in your development and wellbeing.
