          <title><![CDATA[Senior Lecturer in Medical Education Year 5 Specialty Lead (Surgery) (KMMS-110-26)]]></title>

            <p style="margin-left:.5pt;" data-pasted="true"><strong>We are seeking an inspirational educator and role model to lead the delivery and quality assurance of clinical teaching in surgery across year five of the school&rsquo;s undergraduate medicine programme. The post-holder will ensure equivalent learning across all clinical placements and also be involved in clinical teaching to ensure it remains relevant to meeting the requirements for a primary medical qualification. As a subject matter expert, you will also work with colleagues ain other years to ensure the surgical content of the course is accurate and up-to-date.</strong></p><p style="margin-left:.5pt;"><strong>The role will involve working on the campus sites of both the partner universities in Canterbury and Medway and conducting extensive liaison work with placement providers based across Kent and Medway.&nbsp;</strong></p><p style="margin-left:.5pt;"><strong>The role is open to suitably qualified individuals who have a specific interest and background in undergraduate medical education, and who are working in current NHS clinical surgical practice. The successful applicant should have contemporary expertise in curriculum design, delivery and evaluation in undergraduate and/or medical education. Ideally, they will also have experience of clinical and educational supervision, student support, inter-professional learning and assessment.</strong></p><p style="margin-left:.5pt;"><strong>As&nbsp;</strong><strong>Senior Lecturer in Medical Education: Year 5 Specialty Lead (Surgery)&nbsp;</strong><strong>you can expect to be involved in:</strong></p><div style="margin-left:.5pt;"><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li style="margin-left:.5pt;">Using experience of clinical practice, deliver and contribute to the design of high-quality, demand-driven, and student-centred taught programmes as a member of the teaching team.</li><li style="margin-left:.5pt;">Collaborating with placement providers to ensure consistency in the quality of Year 5 placement delivery across all acute trust hospitals and delegated placement providers.</li><li style="margin-left:.5pt;">Participating in placement quality assurance activity such as visits to acute trust hospital and delegated placement provider sites, and the evaluation of student and placement provider feedback and assessment data.</li><li style="margin-left:.5pt;">Undertaking additional leadership roles within the School, as determined by the line manager, and participate in the School&rsquo;s citizenship responsibilities, including committee membership, staff development, and contribution to institutional strategic priorities.</li></ul></div><p style="margin-left:.5pt;"><strong>What will you bring to the role?</strong></p><div style="margin-left:.5pt;"><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li style="margin-left:.5pt;">A primary medical qualification and full registration with the GMC, with a current licence to practise</li><li style="margin-left:.5pt;">In current clinical practice within NHS and commitment to remain in clinical practice for the duration of the KMMS contract</li><li style="margin-left:.5pt;">Fellowship/Membership of an appropriate Royal College</li><li style="margin-left:.5pt;">Current entry on the Specialist Register or any other statutory register required to practice and maintain accreditation with a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalen</li></ul></div><p style="margin-left:.5pt;"><strong>What we can offer in return:</strong></p><p style="margin-left:.5pt;">As a member of our team, you can expect a friendly, open and collaborative working environment and support in your development and wellbeing.
