If you have experience of working in an office environment with face-to-face contact with a variety of people, good IT and organisational skills and excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to show empathy and be approachable to students who may be facing difficulties, this is an exciting opportunity for you.

Join our busy team working to ensure that all students are supported to fully engage with study and get the most from their time at University. 

As Engagement Support Coordinator you will work with colleagues across the Student Engagement team to provide a professional and wide-ranging student service.

As Engagement Support Coordinator you will:

Act as an initial contact point when students call, email or visit the team, providing general information, signposting to other team members and services as appropriate.

Provide information to students and staff regarding University procedures and support options available.

Process Extenuating Circumstances requests, in accordance with the University Extenuating Circumstances policy.

Assist the administration of the Inclusive Learning Plans (ILPs) in line with university and divisional policies and guidelines. 

Work with Engagement Support Officers on the admin required to implement the student attendance and engagement process.

Maintain and manage records to support work across the team.

What will you bring to the role?

Educated to A Level or equivalent including GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent

Experience of working in an office environment with regular use of different software, platforms and systems, processing information in line with GDPR and institutional policies.

Experience of and ability to manage own workload, prioritising tasks as appropriate to meet changing demands and deadlines.

Experience of working in a professional environment with email, phone and face-to-face contact with staff and students of diverse backgrounds, experiences and needs.

A willingness to support work across the wider Student Engagement team, and adapt to changing needs and requirements.
