Associate Lecturer (Clinical)

Are you knowledgeable in areas of medicine related to psychiatry and mental health? Are you able to support and deliver teaching materials for campus-based, online and placement teaching? If so, we’d welcome your application.

The Kent and Medway Medical School are looking for an Associate Lecturer (Clinical) to develop and deliver a range of teaching materials for use in a variety of settings (from small tutorial groups to large lectures) and undertake other teaching and student supervision responsibilities. The Associate Lecturer role (Clinical) holder will have in depth understanding of their own specialism to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding in the field of psychiatry and Mental Health.

As Associate Lecturer (Clinical) you can expect to be involved in:

  • Teaching development, delivery and evaluation with a focus on mental health related content.
  • Responding to and resolving any issues raised directly by students including mental health matters, and/or to refer to the Lead for Mental Health as appropriate.
  • Participating in relevant assessment activity, including marking, standard setting processes, providing feedback to students, academic remediation and resit assessments.

What will you bring to the role?

  • Clinically registered with the GMC and current licence to practice
  • Currently practicing in an area of medicine relevant to the role, or be able to evidence sufficient knowledge of contemporary clinical practice Inclusion on the Specialist Register or GP Register or any other statutory register required to practice and maintain accreditation
  • Successful teaching of healthcare students in a university or clinical environment to undergraduate degree or at a post-graduate level
