Clinic Solicitor/Barrister - Senior Lecturer

Kent Law School is recruiting for a solicitor and/or barrister with extensive experience of immigration law to take up a practitioner/academic post to work in the Kent Law Clinic - based within the Kent Law School. The post is to continue and develop the Law Clinic’s immigration and social welfare work. 

The role involves client casework and teaching and supervision of law students. Applicants must have extensive and relevant experience of practice (as a solicitor or barrister) in immigration law and preferably experience in and knowledge of wider social welfare law. The successful applicant will join in with the work of the other Clinic Lawyers and Co-ordinators as part of the staff team in the Law Clinic in supervising and teaching students and representing clients. 

What you will bring to the role:

  • You will hold a professional qualification entitling you to practise as a solicitor or barrister and hold a degree or equivalent qualification with extensive experience as a solicitor and/or barrister in representing clients in immigration law. 
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a solicitor or barrister in the field of immigration law
  • Excellent communication skills with clients, students, colleagues and the legal community
