Do you have excellent digital skills, hold experience in managing projects as a Technical Project Manager and looking for a new challenge?  If yes, then we would welcome your application.

In this role, you will provide leadership for the planning, management and delivery of significant or complex University wide impacting projects in relation to technical solutions, so they are delivered on time and on budget.  You will act as a champion and mentor for project management approaches within the department, supporting the Operational Enablement Manager.

In this role with the surrounding team, you will support the development, promotion, and advocacy of collaborative digital tools across the University. You will support the University’s digital transformation and seek to streamline or create new business processes, to enhance efficiency and improve user experience.  You will also work to empower staff and students to use digital technologies in new and innovative ways.

As a Technical Project Manager, you can expect to be involved in:

  • Delivering significant projects which seek to create/further enhance the digital solutions at the University to support teaching, research and administrative functions and drive digital transformation in areas where there is greater opportunity/immediate requirement
  • Investigating developments and changes to digital solutions and their use in the HE sector and consider the impact or potential adoption within the University
  • Facilitating the design and implementation of the digital solutions portfolio and embedding processes of continuous service improvement and adoption of new and emerging tools, where applicable, to support staff and student productivity
  • Planning, management and delivery of specialised projects, working closely with fellow experts, internally or externally to the University, to understand and deliver against institutional requirements and priorities

What will you bring to the role?

  • Relevant degree or equivalent work experience
  • Sound knowledge of IT and Microsoft 365 or similar collaborative tools
  • Experience in managing IT projects that are delivered by multiple teams
