The Network Manager will lead, mentor, and manage a team of network professionals, overseeing daily operations and ensuring optimal performance of the University's network infrastructure. This role encompasses responsibility for the design, implementation, and maintenance of key systems, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and firewalls. 

You will play a pivotal role in advancing and supporting the University’s network and voice infrastructure. With a technically hands-on approach, you will contribute to the development and implementation of strategies that align with the University's academic and administrative needs. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with IT leadership and other departments to develop and implement the University's network and voice communications strategy. 
  • Ensure high network uptime and performance, particularly during peak usage, to support academic and administrative functions. 
  • Safeguard the University's network from cyber threats while maintaining ease of access for students, faculty, and staff. 
  • Lead network projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget, while maintaining comprehensive project plans and documentation.

What You Will Bring: 

  • Educated to graduate level or with equivalent experience in a relevant discipline. 
  • Proven experience in a senior networks role with hands-on technical expertise, including deep knowledge of network protocols, equipment, troubleshooting, and best practices. 
  • Experience in IT evaluation, procurement, and implementation, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. 
  • In-depth understanding of security and compliance issues relating to networks and voice communications, with a strong awareness of evolving cyber threats and regulatory requirements.
