Do you have experience in managing quantitative data sets, and conducting advanced statistical analysis? Are you a independent and self-motivated researcher? If so, this role in the School of Psychology could be ideal for you.
We invite applications for a Research Associate position to work on an exciting Leverhulme Foundation-funded research project led by Professor Giner-Sorolla. This two-year project seeks to explore the causes, benefits, and drawbacks of perceiving occupations collectively as "heroic." This phenomenon, observed during the COVID-19 pandemic and in the portrayal of police, military, and first responders, will be examined through a series of validation studies, correlational studies, and experimental studies using paid representative online samples from the UK.
As a Research Associate you can expect to be involved in:
- Managing and analysing the project’s datasets, including preparation for open access
- Assisting in research design and interpretation
- Helping to develop presentations and articles based on project findings
- Presenting the findings at conferences and manage online dissemination of results
What will you bring to the role?
- PhD qualification (or equivalent qualification/experience) in Psychology or related discipline (completed, or submitted by interview date)
- Experience in designing and conducting correlational and/or experimental quantitative research
- Experience with writing and publication process in quality peer-reviewed journals
- Excellent oral and visual presentation skills
