Are you passionate about social media, bursting with creative ideas and keen to create content that connects with student audiences?
As Social Media and Content Assistant, you will bring the University’s stories to life across social and digital channels. Working with students and colleagues across the University, you will create engaging, authentic content that reaches prospective and current students, while developing your skills across video, photography, written content and emerging social trends.
As Social Media and Content Assistant you can expect to be involved in:
- Creating engaging, social-first content including short-form video, photography and written copy for the university’s social media channels.
- Using knowledge of social media platforms and trends, including TikTok, Instagram and emerging channels, to contribute ideas and create content that reflects current digital behaviours and audience expectations.
- Capturing authentic stories and experiences from across the university and turning them into engaging content for prospective and current students.
- Working with student ambassadors and content creators to support the creation of authentic student-led content.
What will you bring to the role?
- Experience of using social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok or X) for personal, voluntary or professional purposes, with an understanding of how different channels are used.
- Good written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate and engaging copy for digital channels.
- Ability to create simple digital content, including taking photographs and short videos using a smartphone and making basic edits using standard software or apps.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
