Recruitment & Outreach (UK & International) Officer

Do you have up to date knowledge of the student experience and an understanding of current issues of funding and recruitment surrounding undergraduate and postgraduate students?  Can you support the delivery of the university-wide Student Recruitment strategy?  If yes, then this full-time post may be of interest.

We are seeking to recruit a Recruitment and Outreach Officer to support the delivery of the university-wide Student Recruitment strategy and to support the University’s objectives in student recruitment across all prospective student audiences.  You will undertake proactive recruitment by participating in recruitment fairs and visits in the UK and globally, to Kent’s key home and international markets as needed. You will enhance the university’s profile and reputation through representing Kent in this capacity to strengthen and protect student recruitment in a competitive marketplace.

As a Recruitment and Outreach Officer you can expect to be involved in:

  • Working with the Recruitment and Outreach Manager and the International Student Recruitment Lead, delivering the annual plan to maximise home and international student recruitment.
  • Contributing to ensuring that the university continues to achieve its recruitment targets, improving its profile and reputation in line with university processes, policies and ambition.
  • Ensuring that all recruitment activity is recorded and monitored, and that it supports the future student recruitment funnel.
  • Creating, updating, and delivering engaging and authentic content and presentations and webinars to prospective students and influencers. Ensure that all relevant recruitment resources are on brand, innovative, and available through shared resources.

What will you bring to the role?

  • Up to date knowledge of the student experience, including an understanding of current issues surrounding undergraduate and postgraduate students, especially funding and recruitment
  • A track record of delivering effective presentations; it is anticipated that the Recruitment and Outreach Officer will be making a large number of School & Colleges visits per year in the UK as well as international commitments, in addition to other HE Fair activities and recruitment activities
  • A sales/recruitment mindset, strong relationship management skills and excellent communication and presentation skills

What we can offer in return:

As a member of our team, you can expect a friendly, open and collaborative working environment and support in your development and wellbeing. You'll enjoy a range of great staff benefits including:

  • Hybrid working options allowing a flexible blend of office and home working (to be agreed in line with business needs)
  • 43 days' leave per year (personal leave, bank holidays and additional days allocated for the Christmas period, pro rata for part-time staff)
  • Excellent pension scheme with generous employer contributions
