Do you have experience in an administrative environment, that involves managing different demands and priorities?  Are you able to work confidently, professionally and use initiative to resolve problems as and when they arise?  

If the answer is yes, then this full-time fixed term role of Graduate & Researcher College (GRC) Assistant could be ideal. 

As Graduate and Researcher College (GRC) Assistant you will provide a range of essential administrative support for the GRC Team. You will be the first point of contact for a wide variety of people at all levels (both internally and externally) and will be expected to gain a good knowledge of the remit of the GRC and the University’s procedures to support postgraduates and staff who research.

As a GRC Assistant your duties will include to:

  • Supporting the wider team by taking responsibility for specific areas of administration within the team
  • Assisting with projects that enhance the postgraduate student experience (i.e. the annual PG conference)
  • Responding to contacts and queries through the main GRC email in-box
  • Supporting basic day-to-day financial administration in relation to the GRC's work

The successful candidate will have:

  • The ability to adapt to different administrative tasks, and to complete these effectively and to relevant deadlines
  • Administrative experience in a similar role, with the ability to work autonomously
  • Experience of the use of MS Office Packages (MS Word and MS Excel in particular)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to liaise effectively with all contacts, and a professional attitude to work
