Pro-Vice Chancellor Research, Innovation & International

We are offering this role on a part time or full time basis (0.7 to 1FTE negotiable) and fixed term for five years


Join us as Pro-Vice Chancellor Research, Innovation & International (PVC RI&I) and help shape the future of higher education.

We are seeking an exceptional, visionary leader to join our executive team to drive our strategic ambitions and nurture a vibrant culture of creativity and enterprise.

You will play a central role in strengthening our partnerships and collaborations, enhancing our distinctive specialisms, and deepening our contributions to economic, social, and cultural enrichment.

Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor & Provost, the PVC RI&I will work collaboratively across the institution, partnering with executive colleagues, Directors of Professional Services, and Heads of School. 

As PVC (RI&I) your key responsibilities will include:

  • Drive growth in research and innovation funding, diversify income streams.
  • Drive knowledge exchange, start-ups and spin-outs.
  • Collaborate with our Directors to cultivate an environment where research and innovation income grows.
  • Provide strategic and academic leadership, direction and support 

Success in this role requires:

  • A visionary leader with a proven track record in research leadership, strategic thinking, and collaborative engagement.
  • Ability to relate to, engage with, and command the confidence of senior colleagues in international, national and regional organisations.
  • A successful record in developing effective partnerships to support research and knowledge exchange.
  • Strong record of external engagement and recognition.
