Project Manager (Construction)

On the 1 August 2026, The University of Greenwich and the University of Kent will form a pioneering new multi-university group called London and South- East (LASE) University Group. Should you join us, you will be employed by LASE but will work as part of the University of Kent academic division, contributing to its distinct strengths, community and identity while also being part of a wider group that brings together the scale, resilience and shared ambition of both universities. Through LASE we aim to deliver outstanding education, impactful research, and meaningful regional and global impact.

Do you have the construction project management expertise to help deliver high-quality campus spaces? If so this role could be ideal.

We’re looking for a Project Manager to support the hands-on delivery of small to medium-sized construction projects across the Canterbury and Medway campuses. Working within recognised project and financial management standards, you’ll help ensure projects are delivered to agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards, while supporting a safe, accessible and sustainable campus environment.

As Project Manager you can expect to be involved in:

  • Managing construction and refurbishment projects from initiation through to completion and handover
  • Planning, procuring and coordinating works, including drawings, specifications and tender documentation
  • Managing project budgets, risks, stakeholders and contractor relationships to support successful delivery
  • Providing specialist construction advice and ensuring compliance with health and safety, CDM, accessibility and University requirements

What will you bring to the role?

  • A construction, building studies or surveying qualification, or equivalent sustained industry experience
  • Project management experience within construction, refurbishment or building fabric works
  • Strong knowledge of construction health and safety, CDM regulations and accessibility requirements
  • The ability to manage budgets, solve problems and communicate effectively with contractors, consultants and stakeholders

What we can offer in return:

As a member of our team, you can expect a friendly, open and collaborative working environment and support in your development and wellbeing. You'll enjoy a range of great staff benefits including:

  • Hybrid working options allowing a flexible blend of office and home working (to be agreed in line with business needs)
  • 43 days' leave per year (personal leave, bank holidays and additional days allocated for the Christmas period, pro rata for part-time staff)
  • Excellent pension scheme with generous employer contributions
  • Corporate employee-funded healthcare plan, in partnership with Benenden Health
