Kent Sport is an exciting and friendly place to work, situated on the beautiful University of Kent, Canterbury campus. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Duty Sports Officer with proven experience of working in a similar role/environment.
If you have a passion for sport, good practical skills, including maintenance and the use of hand tools, excellent customer service skills plus knowledge and experience of Health and Safety guidelines, this is a fantastic opportunity for you.
You will work a rolling shift pattern including regular evenings and weekends and form part of a wider operations team consisting of 5 x Duty Officers and 1 x Facility Manager who report into the Head of Operations and Facilities.
As Duty Sports Officer you can expect to be involved in:
- Supervising and preparing daily the University of Kent sports facilities for bookings and events, setting up sports equipment as required
- Ensuring that Kent Sport facilities are always well presented, clean, maintained and comply with Health and Safety requirements, in order that all users can play sport in a safe and friendly environment
- Providing a consistently high level of customer service to all users of Kent Sport facilities, liaising with all user groups to understand their needs and build relationships
- Continually promoting Kent Sport and its products and services.
What will you bring to the role?
- Proven experience of working in a similar role/environment
- Good IT skills to include MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good practical skills, including maintenance and use of hand tools.
