Here at the Accommodation Office, we have a new and exciting full-time, ongoing role that will provide a comprehensive approach to building a thriving community within a residential setting. 

If you have proven supervisory skills with experience of working in a higher or further education institution or equivalent, and you would like to be involved in the ResLife programme where you can help foster positive decision-making, increase social responsibility, and build life skills like budgeting, communication, activity and wellbeing then this is a great opportunity for you.

As ResLife Assistant you can expect to be involved in:

Supporting the delivery of an annual Accommodation ResLife Programme, with a focus on developing skills, social events, integration, and sports activities. 

Supervising a team of fifteen ResLife Ambassadors and reporting to the ResLife Manager having an overall responsibility for the delivery of the ResLife programme. 

In conjunction with colleagues, you will deliver a service which makes a positive and measurable contribution to students experience.

This is a front facing role where you will be representing the University, working closely with internal and external partners who can contribute resource to the ResLife programme incorporating Catering, Sports and College and Community Life.

You will be required to work 35 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. 

What will you bring to the role?

Experience of working in a higher or further education institution or equivalent.

Willingness to undertake further education and/or training and development to continually broaden and deepen your knowledge of ResLife programmes in HEI.

Flexible and adaptable to change; being able to work in a calm, friendly and approachable manner.

Good IT, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships.

The ability to deal effectively with straightforward people issues and signposting students to relevant departments or support networks.
