The School of Engineering is looking for an enthusiastic and organised Associate Technician to join our Technical Services team. In this role, you will be part of a collaborative technical support team, providing essential services to staff, students, and visitors within the School. You will assist in delivering high-quality teaching and research support by managing equipment, maintaining asset registers, and ensuring safety compliance. If you’re passionate about delivering excellent customer service and ready to develop your technical skills, this is a great opportunity for you!
As an Associate Technician you can expect to be involved in:
- Providing technical support to customers under supervision
- Operating basic equipment and performing straightforward maintenance
- Assisting colleagues and students, in the work area with the preparation of equipment and supply of consumables for scheduled activities
- Understand, promote and apply relevant health and safety procedures ensuring they are followed at all times
What will you bring to the role?
- Hold GCSEs, NVQ Level 1 or equivalent qualifications/experience
- Experience in preparing clear and accurate documentation
- Good IT skills and experience of working with basic software and hardware configurations
- Knowledge of basic safety regulations & procedures
