Do you have a passion for physical activity and wellbeing? Kent Sport has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Health and Fitness Instructor to compliment the Health and Fitness Team. You will help to ensure the efficient and effective day-to-day running of the health, fitness and dance studio facilities at the University of Kent.

In your role you will help to support and deliver established fitness services, group exercise timetables and an annual calendar of health and fitness events and promotions, supporting the wider departmental strategy. You will play a key part in ensuring facilities and services remain inclusive and accessible to all.

What will help you make a difference?

This role is centred on practical delivery and customer support in the fitness suites and studio. Working under the leadership of the Health, Fitness and Performance Manager, you will be team focused and able to work effectively to contribute to the delivery of outstanding customer service whilst ensuring a professional and positive user experience for all.  

You will need excellent interpersonal skills including communication and leadership skills, with a flexible approach to working within a rota shift pattern supporting operational needs.

What we are looking for in the right candidate: 

    A professional qualification in Health & Fitness (Level 2/3 Health and Fitness qualification/PT) and Group Exercise/Coaching qualifications 

    Proven experience of working in a dynamic and service driven fitness environment and experience of leading various exercise classes

    A practical understanding and experience of health and fitness training principles and prescription along with excellent customer service skills.

Your new role is part of Kent Sport where we provide facilities and a diverse health, fitness and sporting programme to nearly 18,000 students, 2,000 staff and the community as a whole. It is a sporting hub for the county. Kent Sport has grown significantly as a department in recent years both in terms of its staffing structure, but also the facilities and services available to its members.
